Markit: Russia’s Manufacturing PMI rises to 52.1 in January
MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) grew to 52.1 in January from 52 in December, researcher IHS Markit said in a statement on Thursday.
The index remained above the 50 no-change mark which indicates an overall expansion of the sector.
“Production growth across the Russian manufacturing sector continued to accelerate in January, and was the strongest since July 2017. The overall improvement in business conditions was also supported by a faster upturn in new orders. The latest survey data signaled a solid start to the year, with IHS Markit currently forecasting a 1.7% rise in industrial production in 2018,” Sian Jones, economist at IHS Markit, said as cited in the statement.
